During the two year course students will follow the following: For all purposes, students will be expected, as they progress linguistically, to:
- Cope with a greater degree of unpdictability.
- Deal with widening range of potential problems, range of vocabulary and structures, including some unfamiliar language.
- Understand issues and opinions.
- Discuss issues and give opinions.
Aims will be considered transferable, as appropriate, to any topic and students should be able to understand and provide information and opinions about these contexts relating to the student's own Lifestyle, Leisure, Home and Environment, Work and Education and that of other people, including people in countries/communities where Panjabi is spoken.

Assessment
Full course will be assessed by terminal examination for the following skills:
Unit 1: Listening - 25% (Foundation or Higher Tier)
Unit 2: Reading - 25% (Foundation or Higher Tier)
Unit 3: Speaking - 25% (NoTier)
Unit 4: Writing - 25% ( No tier)
Short course (in spoken language) will be assessed by terminal examination for the following two skills:
Unit 1: Listening - 50% (Foundation or Higher Tier)
Unit 3: Speaking - 50% (NoTier)
Short course (in written language) will be assessed by terminal examination for the following two skills:
Unit 2: Reading - 50% (Foundation or Higher Tier)
Unit 4: Writing - 50% (No tier)
