Passo Ski Trip 2005

<< School Trips

On the 12th February 2005, 27 students and 6 staff travelled to Passo Tonale Italy. The group left Heathrow airport on an evening flight to Milan and we arrived at our hotel late on the Saturday. However, we were soon settled into our rooms in order to get a good night's sleep before the following day when we would have to get up early in order to complete the ski fitting before our first lessons at 9.00 am.

The hotel Negritella was a small friendly place which served as a good base for the week.

The meals were of a very good quality with 3 and 4 courses at lunch and dinner. The servings were very generous although not always enough to satisfy Mr Soneji's appetite!

After the Ski fitting on Sunday morning we were all ready, if not a bit anxious, for our first experience on skis. After two hours on the nursery slopes and many falls we were soon ready to venture onto the Button lift to take us further up the mountain. All the groups progressed very rapidly and by the second day, some groups were on the chair lifts leaving the village behind to tackle the longer blue and red runs on the other side of the mountain.

By the third day, all three groups were skiing the different runs around the mountain and one group including Mr Hall and Mr Soneji were keen to tackle a particularly steep red run from the top of the mountain. After a few, (or was it many?), falls they all returned to the village in one piece.

Each day there was a "Wally of the Day" award organised by Miss Pisavadia but it was not long before she herself won convincingly!

There were other activities which took place during the week including ice skating, bum boarding, bowling and a pizza evening.

A big thank you to all the students for making it a very enjoyable ski trip and to the staff for all their support including Miss Malik who accompanied us on this trip.
