Ski Trip 2007
On the 18th February 2007, 26 students and 6 staff left the Guru Nanak School and flew from Gatwick Airport to Turin Airport in Italy.
The group arrived at the Hotel Passero Pellegrino in Claviere and after the ski fitting and an evening meal were soon settled into their rooms.
As most of the students were beginners the first day was spent on the very well equipped nursery slopes before venturing up the chair lifts to the steeper and longer runs.
As early as the second day all the students had been taken up the chair lift to the longer and steeper runs. There was no turning back and from then on the students were venturing on to the many runs that the vast ski resort of Claviere offers.
On one particular day half the group and some staff skied to another village and hotel way up in the mountains. This was a challenging run taking over two hours and covering some difficult red runs. The students coped admirably.
During the week there were a number of evening activities including a Pizza evening, Ice skating and a Disco.
At the end of the week the students were presented with well earned certificates to reflect there achievements.
The students behaved excellently and both the Holiday Rep and Instructors all complimented the students on how they had conducted themselves during the week.
The student's attitude to the skiing was some of the best I have witnessed with all of them tackling difficult and long runs from very early on in the week.
