Student Guidelines for using the Library

Resource Centre

The Library Resource Centre is a shared resource for all students and staff within the school. You must bring in the form signed by yourself and your parents before you will be allowed to use the Centre. These are the guidelines you need to agree to.

·         Please observe quiet behaviour as the Centre is an area for learning and study

·         Mrs. Bhamra is responsible for the Centre and you must respect her instructions to you and be cooperative.

·         Please ask the librarian for help if you cannot find information you need. We will also try to order the resources you need.

·         If you take a book off the shelf and are not sure where it goes back please return it to the library desk. A book shelved in the wrong place can be ‘lost’ for a long time.

·         Never take a book out of the library without permission or borrowing it on your name.

·         You are responsible for the books you borrow

·         Bring books borrowed back promptly

·         Pay any fines on overdue books promptly

·         Take good care of books and resources loaned

·         If you lose or damage a book please be honest and bring in the cost of replacement promptly.

·         Do not bring in any food or drink

·         Leave bags in set area

·         Use the booking system if you wish to use the computers

·         All use of computers and internet must be appropriate and as set out in your IT agreement

You will learn how to use a library and research through your English lessons and other subjects.

You will need to borrow a fiction book from our library or your own public library as part of your English reading programme.

As there are still limited resources you should continue to use you local and central library to support your study needs.
