Extended Schools
Homework

All students are expected to study at home as well as at school. Homework will involve a variety of activities including reading, revision or some form of research, as well as written work. In addition all students should be reading a book throughout the week.

Students are issued with a Homework Diary. This contains their homework timetable and is used to record the subject work to be done each evening. Students are expected to devote time to homework each evening. As a guide this should be, one-two hours in Year 7 rising to two-three hours in Year 9.

It is important that homework is completed at a desk in a quite room.

We ask parents to check and sign the diary each week.

Teachers use the diary to record comments, as well as merits of achievement and school detentions.

Parents are encouraged to use the diary to communicate with teachers. Please examine the diary as it contains useful and interesting information.
