Summary of the Admissions Criteria
- Children living with parents, legal guardians, or carers, who demonstrate
a deep commitment to the Sikh faith. Evidence of this commitment will be
required such as a statement from the Priest of the local Gurdwara and commitment
to the five Ks.
- Children living with parents, legal guardians, or carers, at least
one of whom attends worship at least three times a month in a Gurdwara, and
has done so far for at least three years.
- Children living with parents, legal guardians, or carers, at least
one of whom attends worship monthly in the tradition of any faith other than
Sikh. The frequency of worship must be certified by the appropriate authorities.
This certification will be used to establish priority within this criterion.
- Children of families who live in the vicinity of the School.
Within each category, priority will be given to children in the following order:
- Children in Public Care/Looked After.
- Children with well documented acute medical needs whom the Governors
believe would benefit from a place at the School.
- Children with brothers or sisters in the school who were admitted
prior to Year 12. They should have at least one brother or sister attending
the school at the time of admission.
- Distance from home to school.
Note: Distance is measured by the LEA in a straight line from the School main office to the child’s permanent home.
